Monthly challenges like the one I am currently running are great for the creative mind. When I thought about todays subject matter I realized that something I wore has many meanings. Photographers think outside the box. How about the face you wore when you lost a loved one, or an emotional heaviness, hence the saying she wore her heart on her sleeves. This is one example of where todays challenge could go. On that note I felt compelled to capture my emotions of loosing someone dear to me through the images of jewelry.

These are my set of black pearls given to me by my now husband over 17 years ago. I have only wore them for one happy occasion. The last time I wore these was about two years ago when I lost my Father. I kept this image on the more dramatic side considering the blog post.

This picture is kept in a dark dramatic tone as well. My Mother stayed with me awhile after my Dad had passed and she brought these earrings for me in his memory. My Dad's favorite bird is the humming bird as is mine and his favorite color is irridesent. These earrings ended up being the best of both. I took this image with only one direct light which gave me a nice dense tone to the silver and stones.
These last three images I love. The first one is very dark and shadowy. It gives me a warm but sad feeling when I look at it. It is a picture of the only thing of my Dad's that was given to me. This ring was a gift to him from my Grandmother. We had a conversation about this ring the last time I saw my Dad in person. I can feel my Dad's spirt through these images to say the least. This is something I wear often.

Stay tuned and keep looking for my next post. I have been skipping every other day on purpose. It is almost necessary for an Artist to take time off from creative thinking so when they go back to the subject it becomes more revealing. Day 11 challenge is Landscape.
